Position Summary
The Manager, Leadership & Culture Shipboard L&D is a key member of the Talent team sitting within the Shipboard L&D area. It is responsible for creating, designing, developing leadership content and setting the deployment strategy for leadership development that aim to retain and drive peak performance of our leadership talent across the brands (RCI, CCI, SSC).
An advisor to leaders and other stakeholders across the enterprise, this role will develop strategic partnerships across the business—ship and shore—to secure alignment for and deliver value-added learning development solutions to leadership and those they lead. A particular focus will be on building processes and programs to strengthen prioritized talent capability, performance effectiveness, and career development of people leaders onboard, while ensuring alignment with the global talent strategy and brand priorities.
NOTE: This is a full-time in-person role based in the company’s headquarters in Miami, FL. Applicants must be available to work in Miami– Thursday, with work from home on Friday.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Leadership Content, Development Strategy and Capability Building
- Strategic partner with senior Human Resources leadership (shoreside), Human Resource Managers/Directors onboard, and business leaders (ship and shore) to leverage their perspective and performance drives to help inform the design, development and deployment of leadership development efforts onboard.
- Create leadership content with the support of the Content Development team (where applicable) to launch fleetwide across the brands and Private Destinations (RCI, SSC and CCI) with a focus on a holistic enterprise-wide strategy.
- Manage the integration and deployment of leadership development programming and related talent processes for people leaders across the fleets and Private Destinations (RCI, SSC and CCI).
- Craft the strategy and framework to ensure the necessary change management and communication tactics are in place to drive adoption of the talent efforts.
- Closely collaborate with L D colleagues across the fleet throughout development and deployment to ensure they are effectively educated and equipped to facilitate the efforts for their assigned ship(s)/populations.
- Leadership development advisor, sharing in-depth shipboard knowledge to ensure the programming and offerings are relevant for leadership, cultural and operational environment onboard, while aligning to and/or augmenting brand standards and values,
- Facilitate train-the-trainer sessions with onboard leadership and respective talent members onboard, providing feedback on program delivery.
- Continually review and update learning content for HR, Leadership and Culture through close partnership with HRBPs and SMEs; including and not limited to training matrices and partnering with Hotel and Marine.
- Specific to the shipboard population, an extension of and partner with the Talent Lifecycle Team to help shape the strategy and approach for performance management, talent review, succession planning, and career pathing.
- Review and provide detailed feedback on learning, talent programs and related development efforts, with recommendations to tailor and align them to the shipboard environment for maximum effectiveness.
- Assess performance and foster the ongoing development of our at sea learning and development resources through feedback, coaching and the sharing of best practices.
- Manage the procurement and utilisation of company approved learning tools and resources for shipboard leadership to ensure consistent and effective application, as well as scalability.
- Manage the budget for initiatives in scope, securing the right business case and leadership buy-in; partner with procurement and Legal for compliance and due diligence.
- Establish metrics (based on brand strategy and KPIs) to evaluate solutions and outcome achievement; propose continuous improvement recommendations based on progress.
- Holds self and others accountable to meet commitments, measuring performance, and keeping key stakeholders informed of progress based on agreed upon metrics.
- Develops self/others to meet performance and career goals, using feedback as a development tool.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills :
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university focusing on adult learning, enterprise learning, human resource development or other related field.
- Substantial work experience (5 years) as a talent professional in areas such as talent management, learning and development, or other HR related experience within a shipboard environment.
- Certifications and or experience with talent assessments, preferred.
- Makes sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.
- Ability to identify potential people-process risks, anticipate points of resistance and develop specific plans to address and mitigate concerns.
- Capable of resolving issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
- Experience designing and implementing leadership development programs and skill-based frameworks, performance management, career development and succession planning processes across a globally diverse audience.
- Experience with talent assessment tools and partnering with Human Resource and business leaders to develop practical solutions.
- Experience supervising and directing the work of others (internal/external) to achieve specific results within limited timeframes.
- Ability to influence with limited authority, leveraging strong consultation and facilitation skills.
- Ability to work under tight timeframes; plan, prioritize and carry out multiple, detailed tasks with limited supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with senior leaders/executives, across a multi-dimensional matrix and global environment.
