Royal Community Supports is looking for a self-motivated and Open Minded Direct Support Professional to provide support to an Individual in Princeton, NJ
An Individual in his mid-20s, is looking for a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to help him with his communication, learning goals, and community activities throughout the day.
This person is smart, educated, and values a good sense of humor and currently resides in the Princeton area. The ideal Direct Support Professional (DSP) must be patient and a good listener with a playful personality.
Paid training will be available that includes, but is not limited to working with his current Direct Support Professionals (DSP's) to learn the job and to get to know the individual.
You will also be learning Rapid Prompting Method and Spelling to Communicate. These are two types of communication systems for non-verbal individuals with motor apraxia.
Schedule of Services :
6-12 hours per week based on individual availability schedule. Monday's preferred (6 hours), and also possible an additional evening (3 hours) and one weekend (3 hours.
Qualifications :
- Must be able to recognize that disability is a label and not a description

- Staff need to be open minded and come with a positive attitude
- Staff must remember that you are working for a person and not a label
- Must be 18 years old or older
- Minimum of a High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have a car
- Must be willing to have a background check
- Must be willing to take a drug screening
- Must be authorized to legally work in the United States
