Overall Job Description: Seeking a Self-Directed Employee (SDE) who is fun, patient, energetic, and open-minded for a 26-year-old man independently living in his apartment who works and drives. He enjoys video games, pinball, reading, cars, art, museums, walks, basketball, working out, music, community activities, cultural events, travel, festivals, driving, cooking, axe throwing, bowling, and board games.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
The successful individual will independently and creatively execute the goals set. The SDE will know about events and community activities to recommend outings that may be of interest. The SDE will be able to assist with cooking and oversee general housekeeping. The SDE will facilitate socialization online, in person, and in the community. Connecting to the community, communication, and social skills are important as well as attention to details and schedules.
Job requirements:
Experience working with people with developmental disabilities is preferred but not mandatory.
You will be required to have a background check and drug screen.
No smoking is permitted.
Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle for transportation.
Schedule: Flexible: A minimum of 2 hours per shift afternoons/evenings weekdays and weekends available.
Pay: $25/hr
