Hourly Wage:
$17.65-$19.82 (candidates with significant related experience may be higher)
Description:
This internship provides structured experience in Royal's Accounting and Audit Services Departments, working first in one area, then transferring to the other. Under the direction of the Accounting Manager, will perform or assist with various Accounting Department projects and other accounting duties as assigned. Under the direction of the Audit Services Manager, will perform or assist with financial, operational and compliance audits; and other duties as assigned.
Intern Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
Perform daily balancing activities, month-end reconciliations, and assist with the financial closing process.
Prepare financial and analytical reports, and assist with department projects, audits, and year-end processes.
Conduct audits to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations, and verify internal controls.
Prepare audit reports, present findings to Senior Management and Audit Committee, and complete follow-up reviews.
Provide ad hoc assistance to the Accounting and Financial Analytics teams and participate in external audit preparations.
Required Education/Experience:
Enrolled at a University throughout the length of the internship, pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
Completed or enrolled in Intermediate Accounting coursework.
Preferred Education/Experience:
Completed or enrolled in Information Systems coursework.
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:
Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives under minimal supervision.
Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong sense of customer service, confidentiality, and good organizational and time management skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Teams, with a readiness to learn new technologies.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, and ability to produce accurate and high-quality materials.

Work Schedule:
Working approximately 12-15 hours per week during the school year and 30-40 hours per week during the summer. Generally working variable hours between 8:00am – 5:00pm Monday through Friday based on class schedule.
Must be able to work onsite at Royal Credit Union Corporate Center in Eau Claire, WI throughout the school year and during breaks.
This is a limited term, non-benefit eligible, position that will go from May 2025 through January 2027
Must be able to commit to the18-month internship.
Training:
Prior to starting a normal work schedule, new Royal team members must attend Foundation Training at our Corporate Center in Eau Claire, WI from 9:00am - 4:30pm on Monday and Tuesday during their first week of employment. Out of town learners will be reimbursed costs related to travel and lodging.
