SUMMARY:
The Costing Analyst reports to the Costing Manager is responsible for supporting cost accounting, inventory valuation, and financial analysis across the manufacturing process, from raw materials through finished goods production. This role ensures accurate costing, monitors variances, and supports operational cost optimization within manufacturing.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- System setup/creation of all new manufactured product.
- Accurate/timely completion of all product change requests.
- Maintain BOM accuracy and track costs across raw materials, semi-finished, and finished goods production.
- Conduct regular BOM audits and inventory valuation for raw materials, semi-finished, and finished goods (shelf-life included).
- Conduct monthly green coffee costing, cost-benefit analysis, and variance analysis to drive cost optimization.
- Monitor and refine Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) for manufacturing.
- Assess financial impact of product design, raw material, and production method changes.
- Oversee production settlement, ensuring SAP accuracy and reconciling COGI and operations reports.
- Identify and report missing production batches to the MES provider; enter rework in SAP.
- Support semi-finished goods physical inventory counts and refine manufacturing inventory accuracy.
- Maintain inventory costing methodology and conversion cost drivers for manufacturing.
- Collaborate with the Cost Accountant on manufacturing-related budget planning and execution.
- Analyze overhead spending and freight cost drivers within the manufacturing process.
- Support BOM/Routing standardization and process enhancements within the manufacturing plant.
- Develop and refine costing standards for raw materials, labor, and production overhead.
- Participate in or lead special projects and ad hoc financial analysis related to manufacturing costs.
- All other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of a High School Diploma (or an equivalent such as a GED)
- 3–5 years of experience in cost accounting, manufacturing finance, or a related role.
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment is required.
- Experience with cost analysis, standard costing, and inventory valuation.
- Strong proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems for cost tracking and reporting.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis functions.
- Experience working with BOMs (Bill of Materials), inventory costing, and variance analysis.
- Familiarity with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) for tracking production data.
- Strong ability to analyze manufacturing variances, standard vs. actual costs, and cost drivers.
- Ability to interpret financial data and provide insights to Operations and Finance teams.
- Attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
- Ability to work independently and proactively identify and resolve issues
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- The ability to successfully complete the pre-employment process.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field.
- Exposure to lean manufacturing principles and cost-reduction strategies.
- Power BI or other data visualization tools experience for cost reporting.
