Position Description
As an important member of our organization, the Mortician supports the Funeral Service Manager as well as senior managers and interacts with client families during their time of need. The Ambassador is expected create and maintain a superior level of client family satisfaction with various aspects of funeral services and embalming.
Job objectives are as follows but are not limited to:

- As a groundwork for white glove inspections, you will be required to thoroughly clean walls & floors (wiped /mopped) in addition to sanitizing the embalming room and cosmology room at the end of every month.
- · Daily embalming of deceased and weekend embalming is optional
- · Ensure the embalming room and cosmetology are cared for with reverence and respect and ensure that both rooms are cleaned at the end of every process.
- · You will oversee inventory management for the embalming and cosmetology room, and a report must be given twice monthly.

- · Ad-hoc company task as mandated by senior team members.
- · Arrange, direct, & coordinate funeral, graveside, and memorial ceremonies with acute precision/organization, professionalism, and care while keeping with Company Policies and Procedures.
- · Assist with funeral services by supervising the parking of cars, ushering, assisting at chapel and church services, assisting at the cemetery, floral delivery,
- · Assist with the maintenance of vehicles, the facility and property; receive caskets and other funeral home supplies as well as place into inventory and carry out other responsibilities as assigned
- · Assist families in choosing the right service and merchandise for their loved one, and to present services and merchandise in a professional manner
- · Care for the deceased in a respectful manner while performing a variety of tasks which may include: transfers, lifting of deceased human remains (non-casketed and casketed), dressing and casketing; coordinating and assisting with funeral service and visitation, delivery of flowers, caskets, urn, photos and other personal keepsakes or mementos of client families and setting of chairs and the removal, proper care and storage of these items.
- · Cremations management and assistance including but not limited to paperwork and authorizations, transport, processing, packaging, cleaning, and inventory management.
- · Eight hours of continuing education coursed must be completed throughout the work year.
- · Must be able to file Insurance and death certificates if called upon.
- · Must be willing to go on death calls as needed during the workday, as well as agree to a required schedule for night & weekend death calls.
- · On a monthly rotation, you will be willing and able to answer the funeral home line after hours and on weekends.

- · Prepare documents related to services, cremations, maintenance, and any other type of data entry
- · Responsible of complying with Policies and procedures of Cash Handling
- · Responsible to present different options of ceremonies, programs, schedules and memorial items in how to personalize the service to ensure the best quality service.
- · To ensure all equipment is working properly in all areas of funeral service.
- · Train new staff members as directed by the Funeral Service Manager or senior management

Qualifications are as follows but are not limited to:
- · Be a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer
- · Be comfortable working with computers applications, data, and software technology
- · Possess a high level of compassion and integrity
- · Have an excellent work history and good driving record
- · Have good communication and problem-solving skills
- · Have management experience
- · Must be available to work on weekends and occasionally during the evening hours.
- · Must be professional, organized, and sensitive to the needs of our families.
- · Must be able to list a minimum of 150lbs.
