Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Delivery Manager to oversee our delivery operations. The ideal candidate will ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods while maintaining high standards of customer service. This role involves managing a team of drivers, coordinating routes, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The Delivery Manager will play a crucial role in enhancing customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Duties
- Supervise daily delivery operations, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
- Manage a team of delivery drivers, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Coordinate delivery routes to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues related to deliveries.
- Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules and ensure all vehicles are in good working condition.
- Assist with deliveries when needed.
- Conduct training sessions for new drivers on best practices for customer service and safety.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, driver performance, and inventory levels.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure smooth loading and unloading processes.
Experience
- Proven experience in a delivery or logistics management role is preferred.
- Strong background in customer service with the ability to address client needs effectively.
- Address complex issues that arise within the team and provide effective solutions to maintain workflow and productivity.
- Track the team's performance and set goals to drive success, providing performance evaluations and constructive feedback regularly.
- Experience in warehouse operations, including loading and unloading goods.
- Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and route planning.
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or van driver is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during loading/unloading activities.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and customers.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., or move 200 lbs, with a dolly or assistance of another person without sustaining personal injury or damaging the merchandise.
- Assist customers loading vehicles and merchandising on the sales floor.
- Must have the ability to lift, sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, twist and reach with hands and arms.
