Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medication Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality resident care, support the nursing staff, and ensure that residents receive the best possible treatment in a variety of settings, including long term care, sub-acute care, and memory care. This role requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to resident-centered care.
Responsibilities
Including, but not limited to:
Provide routine daily medications, either prescription or non-prescription, to residents in accordance with Rhode Island law.
Responsible for maintaining appropriate documentation entries for medications given.
Complete resident assignments effectively and promptly
Assist residents with transporting to/from appointments, activity and social programs etc. as necessary.
Assist with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting residents into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, lifts, etc.
Follow established safety precautions in the performance of all duties.
Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
Provide support in emergency situations by responding promptly to residents needs.
Assist nursing staff in providing hospice care for terminally ill patients.
Help lift and transfer residents safely using appropriate techniques and equipment.
Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents by adhering to infection control protocols.
Document residents information accurately while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Collaborate with healthcare team members to deliver comprehensive resident care in our facilities.
Skills
Currently certified as a Medication Technician and CNA in the State of Rhode Island
Previous experience working with the elderly in a skilled nursing environment is preferred.
Strong understanding of resident care principles and practices.
Ability to provide compassionate support in hospice care settings.
Proficient in lifting techniques to ensure the safety of both patients and staff.
Familiarity with Skilled Nursing, Sub-acute, and Memory Care and the specific needs of residents.
Understanding of HIPAA regulations to maintain resident confidentiality.
Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations during an emergency.
Excellent communication skills to interact with residents, families, and other healthcare professionals.
