What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cashier/Host position at Royal Kona Resort?

As a member of this family-owned and operated resort, you will help each guest feel like family and will work alongside a diverse and dedicated team who share Aloha with our guests each day.
The Cashier/Host initiates memorable dining experiences for patrons of Don Mai Tai Bar and the Voyagers of the Pacific Luau. Daily tasks may include: influencing overall service operation by organizing seating in the dining room; warmly greeting guests, escorting them to tables and providing menus and initial dining information; properly issuing, pricing, and recording all Food & Beverage chits; and accepting cash, check or charge account payments in accordance to accounting procedures.
The ideal candidate will posses strong communication skills, a great overall positive attitude and natural aptitude for service, as well as the ability to interact effectively and courteously with guest, peers, and management staff in a team environment. The ideal candidate will have previous cash-handling experience, with strong preference for hotel food & beverage cashiering experience. Related experience should include responsibility of a cash bank and familiarity with processing different methods of payment in line with accounting procedures.
The ideal candidate will also have the following skills and attributes:
- Ability to speak, read and write in the English language.
- Available to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to stand and walk for eight (8) or more hours.
- Understanding of restaurant operations and guest relations to effectively produce guest satisfaction and address concerns with empathy and positive and proactive solutions.
- Ability to effectively manage the luau check in process; maintain guest service while being expeditious and handling large numbers of luau attendees.
- Neat and professional appearance, a genuine Spirit of ALOHA and the desire to serve.
- TB Clearance required.
- As a condition of employment, candidates must successfully complete all pre-employment screening.
