What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Assistant position at Royal Oak Surgical Center?
Hiring a full time dental assistant / receptionist for our pediatric dental surgery center. Experience preferred but not required.
Higher compensation will be offered to candidates with experience. Candidates will be cross trained as receptionists.
Candidates will be required to undergo a background check and drug screening, including marijuana, as part of the hiring process.
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.

$17
Responsibilities:
- Preparing patients for dental work.
- Helping with infection control by sterilizing and disinfecting instruments, setting up instrument trays, preparing materials
- Assisting with dental procedures.
- Assisting dentists in managing medical and dental emergencies when necessary.
- Providing great patient care.
- Recording treatment information in patient records.
- Exposing dental x-rays from dental diagnostics and caring for dental x-ray equipment.
- Giving patients information on dental hygiene, oral health care, and plaque control programs.
- Collecting and recording medical and dental histories.
- Providing post-operative instructions as directed by the dentist.
- Greet and welcome patients
- Answer questions and address concerns
- Answer incoming calls and redirect them or keep messages
- Receive letters, packages etc.
- Prepare outgoing mail by drafting correspondence
- Check, sort and forward emails
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Good written and verbal communication skills
