Position Summary:
This technical role provides support for site automation systems and network infrastructure. The incumbent troubleshoots and diagnoses problems with process controls and manufacturing systems, generating recommendations and developing solutions to correct and resolve issues.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for site automation systems and network infrastructure
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with process controls and manufacturing systems
- Improve overall site integration between various systems
- PLC and HMI coding and integration
- PID loop creation, tuning and troubleshooting
- Scoping out electrical requirements for various projects throughout the plant
- Identify opportunities for business growth by assessing automation needs, recommending process improvements and staying informed on emerging technologies
- Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence
Preferred Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in electrical and automation engineering in a continuous manufacturing facility
- Experience with integrated continuous manufacturing systems
- Comprehensive understanding of electrical systems, automated systems, industrial networks and installations across low, medium and high-voltage systems
- PLC: Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
- HMI: Allen Bradley (Panel view) / Rockwell Automation
- Robots: Fanuc
- Electrical arc flash training and certification
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Computer) or a related field OR a Technical Associate's degree with equivalent hands-on experience
