TITLE: Head Equipment Mechanic
DEPARTMENT: Golf Course Maintenance
REPORTING TO: Director of Golf Course Maintenance/Agronomy
Summary:
The Head Mechanic repairs and maintains all equipment associated with the Golf Course Maintenance Department by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Lubricates and services all golf course maintenance equipment.
- Inspects equipment for operating deficiencies.
- Repairs and adjusts equipment.
- Maintains repair records on all equipment.
- Trains maintenance staff on the proper use of equipment and the correct maintenance methods.
- Demonstrates the use of new equipment.
- Establishes and maintains safety procedures for all equipment and keeps required records.
- Trains operators on the care and use of new equipment.
- Performs general overhaul and other preventative maintenance on all equipment.
- Purchases products and small tools.
- Adheres to standards and guidelines, as set by Management.
- Other duties, as assigned by the Director of Golf Course Maintenance/Agronomy or General Manager.
Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
Must have at least 3-5 years of recent Mechanic experience on a golf course facility. Must be able to use a grinder effectively and be proficient at working with commercial golf course and grounds equipment. Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, using the English language.
Certifications, Licenses:
None required.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to understand, interpret and follow a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to feel, handle and operate; reach with hands and arms; and see, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to walk, bend, push, pull, reach and occasionally lift and/or move 50 lbs.
Work Environment:
Outside work for extended periods of time and precautions should be taken.
