Job Summary
We’re seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Inventory Purchasing & Parts Room Associate to oversee our large parts room supporting a 24/7 tissue paper manufacturing facility. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team in a critical role that supports our high-speed converting lines, ensuring smooth operation across our production schedule. This role requires a highly organized individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with maintenance teams, vendors, and management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels to identify purchasing needs, conduct regular cycle counts, and perform physical inventories to ensure accuracy and support operations.
- Vendor Coordination: Research potential vendors, track orders, negotiate pricing and delivery terms, and follow up on shipments. Serve as the primary point of contact for various service contracts.
- Database Management: Update the CMMS (currently Maintenance Connection) with order details, including dates, vendors, quantities, and discounts, and maintain detailed records of invoices and contracts.
- Root Cause Analysis: Investigate inventory discrepancies, develop corrective action plans, and implement improvements in systems, processes, and staffing.
- Organizational Support: Label and tag inventory stock, identify minimum and maximum critical spare parts levels, and reorder maintenance supplies, including nuts, bolts, pipe fittings, and welding supplies, to maintain production readiness.
Skills/Qualifications Requirements
- Strong Communication Skills: Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively both in writing and verbally.
- Collaborative Mindset: A team player with a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and an ability to support team goals.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel; experience with inventory management software and a basic understanding of inventory principles is strongly preferred.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
