One of the fastest growing materials distributors in Northern California is seeking an Architectural Consultant.
Position Summary: The Architectural Consultant (AC) is responsible for identifying specification opportunities within the architectural and design community. The AC will be employed on a full-time basis while calling on architectural firms, interior design firms, kitchen & bath shops, design builds, etc.
The AC position will require positive interactions with co-workers along with vendor representatives to assist clients in gaining the necessary information to successfully write proprietary architectural specifications. Duties include:
- Create awareness of Royal Plywood and the products we distribute.
- Drive specifications and eventual sales by working with architectural firms; interior design firms; builders and developers as well as kitchen and bath showrooms.
- Follow and manage leads as provided by our Vendors; trade shows as well as Construct Connect reports.
- Participate in our in-house and vendor training sessions to successfully educate your client base.
- Collaborate and network with industry professionals as well as our in-house team of AC’s and Material Consultants.
- Schedule presentations; manage updates of our product lines as needed
- Participate in local industry events, vendor shows and networking opportunities.Help drive specifications and sales by developing current and building new relationships with architects and design firms
- Partner with the architectural community to create product selections to complete their projects for the purpose of generating project specifications.
- Present and promote products to the architect and design community to build awareness for the purpose of generating project specifications.
- Scheduling and conducting luncheon seminars to provide education on product characteristics or new products.
- Provide timely and accurate technical information
- Communicate with outside sales representatives, offering sales support
- Achieve/exceed targeted new architect and new builder calls per month within a specified territory
- Update existing product displays, sample merchandise and literature.
- Respond to special requests and sample deliveries
- Report observable trends, competitor activities and specifier activity levels
- Follow up on leads generated in house, from trade shows and strategic partners
- Prospect for new business
Requirements:
- 2 to 4 years prior experience working within the Architectural & Design community.
- Strong interpersonal communication & presentation skills
- Must be organized and demonstrate time management
- Understand how to interpret design documents
- Willing to participate in AIA, IIDA or other design focused networking groups and events
- Must be willing to use their personal vehicle. Automobile liability insurance is required. Mileage will be reimbursed at current federal reimbursement rates.
- Must be willing to be on the road 50 % of the time, meeting architects and designers, hosting and/or participating in events
- Willing to travel within Southern Nevada & Southern Utah
