Royal Productions is seeking a part-time skilled and experienced Audio Visual (AV) Technician to join our dynamic Events Team. As an AV Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless execution of meetings, conferences, and events by setting up, striking, and troubleshooting all audio, visual, and lighting equipment. Key Responsibilities:
- Setup & Operation: Set up and dismantle AV equipment including projectors, microphones, speakers, video monitors, recording devices, and lighting systems.
- Event Support: Work closely with clients, event coordinators, and hotel staff to ensure all AV needs are met for various events including corporate meetings, weddings, and live performances.
- Troubleshooting: Quickly identify and resolve technical issues to minimize disruptions during events.
- Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance and testing on AV equipment to ensure optimal performance. Report any equipment failures or needed repairs to the appropriate department.
- Customer Service: Provide high-quality service to clients and guests, ensuring a positive experience by addressing their AV needs with professionalism and efficiency.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with other departments such as IT, engineering, and banquets to ensure successful event execution.
- Inventory Management: Maintain an organized inventory of AV equipment and ensure all items are accounted for and in working order.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all AV setups comply with safety regulations and hotel policies.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as an AV Technician, preferably in a hotel, convention center, or similar environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in the operation of a wide range of AV equipment including projectors, sound systems, lighting controls, and video conferencing tools.
- Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Customer Service: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on delivering exceptional guest service.
- Flexibility: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and move heavy equipment, stand for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Certifications: AV industry certifications (e.g., CTS) are a plus but not required.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certifications in AV technology preferred.
Pay commensurate with experience.
