Job Description
- Assist teacher in providing small group and individual instruction to monolingual and/or ELL students.
- Assist teaching personnel in all areas of their work.
- Operate various pieces of equipment, ie, copy machines, video equipment, computers, etc.
- Assist individual monolingual and/or ELL students in teacher-monitored classrooms.
- Work closely with ELL Instructional Coach to monitor and document progress of ELL students.
- Educational assistant will be responsible to the building principal.
- Provide for student safety.
- Provide activities and instruction for monolingual and/or ELL students as planned by the teacher or ELL Instructional Coach.
- Assist with maintaining discipline.
- Assist monolingual or ELL students in other classes as necessary.
- Must meet PESB requirements for the Fundamental Course of Study
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- High School graduate, or GED.
- AA degree, or 48 semester credits or 72-quarter credits from an institution of higher education, or having successfully passed the Washington State Academic Assessment Praxis II Para Pro Test (WASST).
- Dependable, trustworthy, experience working with children and adults, good time manager, initiative
- Bilingual Required
Terms of Employment
- Starting Date: 01/27/2025 or TBD- 2024-25 School Year
Salary: $18.00-$25.09 Based on Education and Experience, 2024-2025 PSE Salary Schedule
191 days/year.
