CAREGIVERS Nigh Shift - Assisted Living Facility

Provides assistance to residents to meet their daily needs while providing a safe environment and ensuring the dignity and well-being of residents under direction of the Resident Care Director. Shift starts 10pm to 6am.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.

1. Provide assistance with the activities of daily living.
2. Answer and respond to pendant calls immediately to determine residents’ needs
3. Participate in the shift change reports.
4. Practice proper body mechanics transferring and follow safety guidelines according to residence policies and procedures.
5. Take residents vital signs and documents findings. Any abnormalities should be reported to Director of Resident Care. In the event, the Director of Resident Care is not available call 911.
6. Knowledge of the proper way to discharge residents to hospital.
7. Serve meals and clears place settings and assists residents requiring help (Memory care floor).
8. Encourage residents to attend meals in the dining room, escort residents to and from the dining room.
9. Make sure residents are hydrated.
10. Assist in transferring residents to and from activities so that all can participate in the activity program.
11. Make rounds every 2 hours of all residents and provide care if needed.
12. Offer choice, maintain dignity, and promote individuality for all residents.
13. Observe and report any changes in residents’ status, skin alterations/issues, and/or incidents to the Director of Resident Care.
14. Ensure residents’ rooms look neat and clean.
15. Assist with residents’ personal laundry as needed.
16. Provide excellent customer service to residents, co-workers, family members, and visitors at all times. 
17. Attend all regular staff meetings and required training sessions.
18. Sign in and out for radios and pagers.
19. Proper use and maintenance of radios and pagers.

Education and/or Experience:

High school degree or equivalent.  

Language Skills:

Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English. 

Mathematical Skills:

Basic math skills required

Computer Skills:

Basic computer skills required

Reasoning Ability:

• Able to work under pressure and multitask.  
• Must be able to deal effectively with people.  
• Must be self-motivated and resourceful.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Florida Certified Nursing Assistant
