What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wellness Assistant position at Royal Senior Care Management LLC?
Provide clerical assistance to the Director of Resident Care & Wellness Center to ensure the provision of ancillary services to the residents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following: (Note: Other duties may be assigned)
- Audit Charts ensure they have the proper documentation and information.
- Requisition central supplies (if applicable)
- Schedule and coordinate all medical appointments, record then in appointment book, wall calendar, and on computer calendar. Record all activity dates in same manner.
- Print and have ready resident’s demographics, current medical list and labs for doctor appointments.
- Update and audit Resident Demographic Book (RED) and Resident Medical Book on Monthly basis or when needed.
- Fax any medical or pharmaceutical request.
- Record residents weight monthly per current weight regulation.
- Fill out labs, keep lab book updated, pull and file labs to be drawn, match lab slips in lab book.
- Make and confirm transportation arrangements.
- Do necessary filing in medical records such as: signed MD telephone orders, etc.
- Answer and operate telephone system. Answer callers questions and if unable to direct the calls to the appropriate individual or department after determining the nature of the call.
- Close files on existing residents.
- Record and dispose of expired medications.
- Fill out pharmacy return and repack paperwork.
- Record caller’s name, time of the phone call and nature of business when intended party is unavailable.
- Maintain C.N.A assignment book. (Shower schedule, etc.)
- Work with both residents and family members to stay updated on all appointments.
- Make copies of all fax reports and place copies in medical records.
- Fill out requisition forms for floor supplies.
- Fill in as staff Med Tech/CNA as needed.
- Assess needs of residents who enter the wellness center and promptly refer to appropriate staff.
- Monitor emergency calls system and ensure immediate response by staff.
- Greet resident and family members who enter the wellness center.
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays. (modified schedule as agreed upon).

Education and/or Experience:
High School degree or equivalent, previous experience in long-term setting is preferred, Certified CNA/Med Tech for a minimum of two years.
Language Skills:
Must possess good communication skills; both verbal and written, in English. Ability to communicate in other foreign language is desirable.
