Provide clerical assistance to the Director of Resident Care & Wellness Center to ensure the provision of ancillary services to the residents.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  Include the following: (Note: Other duties may be assigned)

  1. Audit Charts ensure they have the proper documentation and information.
  2. Requisition central supplies (if applicable)
  3. Schedule and coordinate all medical appointments, record then in appointment book, wall calendar, and on computer calendar. Record all activity dates in same manner.
  4. Print and have ready resident’s demographics, current medical list and labs for doctor appointments.
  5. Update and audit Resident Demographic Book (RED) and Resident Medical Book on Monthly basis or when needed.
  6. Fax any medical or pharmaceutical request.
  7. Record residents weight monthly per current weight regulation.
  8. Fill out labs, keep lab book updated, pull and file labs to be drawn, match lab slips in lab book.
  9. Make and confirm transportation arrangements.
  10. Do necessary filing in medical records such as: signed MD telephone orders, etc.
  11. Answer and operate telephone system. Answer callers questions and if unable to direct the calls to the appropriate individual or department after determining the nature of the call.
  12. Close files on existing residents.
  13. Record and dispose of expired medications.
  14. Fill out pharmacy return and repack paperwork.
  15. Record caller’s name, time of the phone call and nature of business when intended party is unavailable.
  16. Maintain C.N.A assignment book. (Shower schedule, etc.)
  17. Work with both residents and family members to stay updated on all appointments.
  18. Make copies of all fax reports and place copies in medical records.
  19. Fill out requisition forms for floor supplies.
  20. Fill in as staff Med Tech/CNA as needed.
  21. Assess needs of residents who enter the wellness center and promptly refer to appropriate staff.
  22. Monitor emergency calls system and ensure immediate response by staff.
  23. Greet resident and family members who enter the wellness center.
  24. Must be able to work weekends and holidays. (modified schedule as agreed upon).

  5. Able to work in a safety conscious manner which ensures that safe work practices are used in order not to pose a risk to self or to others in the work place.
  6.  Able to comply with company policies and procedures, and local, state, and federal regulations.
  7. Able to adhere to policy on Drug Free Work Place.
  8. Able to interact in a tactful, diplomatic, and humanistic manner with residents, families, visitors, and co-workers to provide a safe, efficient, and therapeutically effective caring environment which ensures the self-respect, personal dignity, rights and physical safety of each resident and center guest.

Education and/or Experience:

High School degree or equivalent, previous experience in long-term setting is preferred, Certified CNA/Med Tech for a minimum of two years.

Language Skills:

Must possess good communication skills; both verbal and written, in English. Ability to communicate in other foreign language is desirable.
