What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hourly Technician (Lexus of Tucson) position at Royal Speedway Inc?
The Royal Automotive Group's Lexus of Tucson location is seeking an hourly technician. The position for which you are applying includes entry-level through advanced master certified roles (candidates with no experience are able to train with our apprentice program). We base our hiring decisions on each specific applicant's skill set, personality, and where a candidate will fit best. After initial screening from our Human Resources Department, applicants may be invited for an interview based on 1) the current needs of the organization, and 2) how closely the candidate's skills, abilities, application responses, characteristics, and prior experience match the position(s) we are looking to fill.
The Technician/Mechanic is responsible for servicing and repairing vehicles as assigned by the Service Manager, Team Leader, or Assistant Service Manager. In addition, the Service Technician may be assigned to conduct pre-delivery service on new vehicles to ensure excellent working order upon delivery to the customer.
The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, an unrestricted driver's license, a clean driving record, at least one year of dealer-level or large facility experience, post-secondary automotive training, ASE Certification (or is willing to obtain certification), and a strong technical performance record.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works alongside an assigned technician to learn to perform quality vehicle service maintenance and repairs.
- Assists assigned technician as needed.
- Performs safety inspections, oil changes, lubrication work, basic maintenance, and minor repairs as directed.
- Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
- Attends departmental meetings and manufacturer-sponsored training classes which may require travel and overnight stays.
- Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be able to perform the physical duties associated with this position
- High school diploma or GED
- Post high school tech school or ASE certification desired
- Must have an impressive work-ethic
- Neat, clean, and professional appearance
- Must have an unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record
- Must be able to operate a standard-transmission vehicle
