YOUR ROLE
Our Civil Engineering Estimator - Project Manager works from 7:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday.
This position tackles essential estimating and project management tasks to support our residential and commercial jobs. You collaborate with project owners, subcontractors, and other staff to complete the job on time and under budget. Attention to detail is crucial as you review and redline project plans to understand the scope of work and identify potential issues. Then, you calculate quantity take-offs, material prices, and other costs to generate detailed estimates.
Keeping the budget in mind, you manage the bidding process, work with vendors and subcontractors, and strengthen supplier relationships. You implement realistic schedules to keep the project moving without compromising quality. As the project progresses, you maintain detailed records, facilitate site meetings, and present change order requests when appropriate. You also review historical data and summary reports to influence future estimating decisions. Staying well-organized and prioritizing tasks, you complete quality work.
CIVIL ENGINEERING ESTIMATOR - PROJECT MANAGER REQUIREMENTS
- 3 years of relevant civil engineering estimating or project management experience
- Strong proficiency with computers, Microsoft Excel, and bid software
- Knowledge about construction terms, scheduling, and planning
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and other construction drawings
- Written and verbal communication skills with an ability to delegate tasks
- Math skills with the ability to manage detailed estimates
- Organizational skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of relevant experience
- College education in construction management or a related field
- Familiarity with construction management software
