THE VITAL ESTIMATION ROLE YOU'LL HAVE
As our Construction Estimator, you'll be the bridge between project vision and execution. You'll prepare precise estimates for excavating, earthwork, underground utilities, and other heavy civil projects. Your days will be spent reviewing plans and proposals, identifying the scope of work, and producing detailed estimates with thorough documentation. You'll coordinate with project owners, vendors, and subcontractors to gather quotes, manage bids, and keep projects on track. Building preliminary schedules, maintaining unit pricing, and analyzing historical data will be part of your daily routine. Your ability to juggle multiple estimates while ensuring accuracy and efficiency will drive the success of every project.
This is a full-time estimation position with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 5 PM, and opportunities for overtime.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESS
- 3 years of estimation experience in civil engineering
- Knowledge of construction terms, scheduling, and planning concepts
- Knowledge of construction equipment, techniques, and applicable standards
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents, plans, specifications, schematic diagrams, and isometric drawings
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Great math skills with the ability to manage detailed estimates
Having experience with Sharpsoft and Planswift software, as well as proficiency with Microsoft 365, specifically Excel, would be a huge plus! Holding a college degree in construction management or a related field is also preferred but not required.
