Responsibilities:
- Safety Onboarding Workflow: Building and updating the safety onboarding workflow for commercial drivers, including tasks such as background checks, driver qualification file maintenance, managing drug testing programs, and ensuring compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations.
- Safety Program Planning: Planning and organizing safety programs in adherence to OSHA, federal, and state laws, regulations, and rules.
- Facility Walk-Throughs: Conducting regular walk-throughs of each facility, monitoring injury data, and providing safety recommendations based on observations.
- Safety Training Development: Developing safety training programs for various employee groups, such as new hires, drivers, technicians/mechanics, and warehouse personnel, through gap assessments.
- Accident and Injury Management: Acting as the first point of contact for accidents and injuries, conducting accident investigations, and filing OSHA reports, including forms 300, 300A, and 301.
- Worker's Compensation: Confidentially managing worker's compensation incidents to meet the needs of employees and the company.
- Safety Meetings: Arranging and coordinating safety meetings for the safety committee and participating in other meetings related to departmental operations.
- Regulatory Familiarity: Maintaining familiarity with industry laws and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
