Vopak New Energies America is looking for a Business Development Manager to join our growing business development team, and play a significant part in accelerating the transition to zero carbon fuels. This role will identify business opportunities and drive the investment process for a portfolio of projects worth several hundred million dollars.
This is a hybrid position out of our Houston, TX office.

Founded 400 years ago, Royal Vopak N.V. is a multinational midstream company operating 78 terminals in 23 countries including 9 in North America. Vopak is handling chemicals, oil, biofuels, gasses and LNG.
New Energies such as hydrogen and renewable electricity are key components of our future energy system. Yet, their deployment is facing technical and economic challenges, especially related to storage and logistics. To solve these challenges, Vopak is investing in breakthrough technologies such as Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carrier ("LOHC"), Hydrogen / Bromine flow batteries, CO2 energy storage or catalytic pyrolysis of plastics.
Vopak committed 1 billion Euro in equity to New Energies investment opportunities such as underground hydrogen caverns, liquid hydrogen, ammonia import / export terminals, LOHC, Long Duration Energy Storage (flow batteries, CO2 energy storage), CO2 management and plastics recycling.

Work Environment
This position requires an employee to be in an office environment as well as exposed to outside elements. Most extreme elements are heat in the summer months of up to 100° and some exposure to cold of generally no less than 0° in the winter months. There will be exposure to various chemicals and compounds, including fumes and smells, some of them hazardous. The employee may enter confined spaces and work in elevated environments. Employee must be able to wear PPE required by the location. General office noise may be experienced and louder sounds and vibrations when outside. All environments are safe with appropriate PPE.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, speak and hear. The employee is required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; the employee may be required, on occasion, to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee may be required to climb ladders / storage tanks up to 50' in height. The employee may be required to enter confined spaces. The employee may occasionally lift and / or move up to fifty (50) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Employees may be required to travel by air, rail, bus, or car.
