Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Provide meal preparation and nutritional support tailored to individual dietary needs.
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health status.
- Offer companionship and engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety during movement.
- Provide catheter care and other specialized health-related tasks as required.
- Support clients with dementia care by implementing appropriate strategies to manage symptoms.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Document care provided and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals regarding client needs.
Skills
- Experience in home community care or long-term care settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of caregiving techniques and best practices for working with individuals with disabilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Ability to follow care plans accurately while being attentive to the unique needs of each client.
- Compassionate approach towards individuals requiring assistance, particularly those with dementia or chronic illnesses.
