Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Preparer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of tax regulations, financial concepts, and excellent customer service skills. This role involves preparing and filing individual and business tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal and Pennsylvania state tax laws. The Tax Preparer will also provide clients with valuable tax insights and financial guidance.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and file accurate individual and business tax returns in compliance with all regulations.
- Review financial records, income statements, and supporting documents to determine tax liabilities.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering client inquiries and resolving concerns.
- Utilize professional tax software and Refund Advantage bank products for tax processing.
- Stay updated on tax law changes to provide clients with accurate advice.
- Educate clients on financial concepts related to taxation, deductions, and credits.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and meet deadlines during tax season.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of tax preparation experience is required.
- Previous experience in public accounting, tax preparation, or as a tax clerk is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of federal and Pennsylvania tax laws, regulations, and procedures.
- Excellent math skills and attention to detail for accurate calculations.
- Proficiency in tax software (experience with QuickBooks is a plus).
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of technical accounting principles is a plus.
