Position Summary
The 2nd Shift Punch Press Operator will be responsible for configuring and operating press machines to cut, shape, and form materials used in manufacturing operations.
Essential Duties/Job Responsibilities (Job Duties)
- Set-up, check, and utilize Punch Press machines to successfully cut, shape, and form materials.
- Inspect parts produced to ensure they meet specifications.
- Read blueprints/diagrams to determine dimensional specifications and operating requirements.
- Measure and cut raw materials to be used.
- Perform material handling functions, including loading materials for job runs using hoist or forklift.
- Perform preventative maintenance on assigned press machines to guarantee performance and functionality.
- Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions.
Minimum Qualifications/Skills:
- High School Degree or GED
- Ability to set up and run a press brake machine
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read and operate measurement tools
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Basic math skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawing, and schematics
- Ability to skillfully and safely operate and use job specific tools and equipment
Experience:
- 2 years of previous production/press machine experience required
- Experience in a light manufacturing setting desired.
- Forklift experience a plus
Requirements:
- Work environment and working conditions are reflective of a light manufacturing setting.
- Perform work on concrete floors for duration of shift.
- Must be able to lift and move (push, pull, carry) items weighing up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis.
- Must be able to raise arms above shoulders regularly and freely rotate shoulders/arms to lift/move parts on and off of the machine.
- Must be able to kneel, crouch, stoop, bend, squat when needed.
- Work will include repetitive hand, arm, wrist and leg motion.
- Will need hand and finger flexibility and dexterity and excellent eyesight with or without corrective lenses.
