Position Summary
The inventory control clerk will be responsible for unpacking shipments received, sorting, labeling, recording, stocking, storing, and distributing parts and other inventory within the warehouse.
Essential Duties/Job Responsibilities (Job Duties)
- Unpack shipments received from vendors.
- Sort, count, label and record incoming inventory; report any discrepancies between what was ordered and what was received or damage or quality problems with the load.
- Perform material handling functions including properly loading and storing materials using hoist or forklift.
- Update inventory counts and maintain inventory records.
- Perform quality checks on stored inventory, reporting any discrepancies in inventory.
- Pull orders accurately as requested.
- Conduct regular inventory counts as requested to ensure appropriate stock levels.
Minimum Qualifications/Skills:
- High School Degree or GED
- Strong organizations skills
- Basic math and record keeping abilities
- Ability to work independently within a team environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to skillfully and safely operate job specific tools and equipment, including a forklift
- Strong attention to verbal and written communication skills.
Experience:
- A minimum of one year of warehouse/distribution center experience.
- Experience in a light manufacturing setting preferred.
- Six months previous forklift experience.
Requirements:
- Regular Shift: 3:30 pm to 12:00 am; Overtime: 2:30 pm to 1:30 am
- Work environment and working conditions are reflective of a light manufacturing setting.
- Perform work on concrete floors for duration of shift.
- Must be able to lift and move (push, pull, carry) items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to raise arms above shoulders regularly and freely rotate arms/shoulders to lift/move parts.
- Must be able to kneel, crouch, stoop, bend and squat when needed.
- Work will include repetitive hand, arm, wrist, and leg motion.
- Will need hand and finger flexibility and dexterity and excellent eyesight with or without corrective lenses.
