Overview:
The assembly supervisor will be responsible for the overall supervision, management, and coordination of the day-to-day operations of the assembly department to ensure that targets and quality standards are achieved. Will supervise, coach, discipline and teach technicians in their assembly efforts.
Essential Duties/Job Responsibilities (Job Duties)
- Plan, assign and delegate/direct work for team members to meet production demands, schedules, quality, quantity, and cost requirements.
- Delegate and coordinate assignments to leads and assist as necessary to effectively utilize team members, equipment, and materials for production.
- Coach/train team members on areas such as performance, quality, and safety.
- Maintain daily communication with team members.
- Manage timesheets, coordinate vacation and absences to ensure necessary coverage.
- Partake in team problem solving and preventative/corrective action as required.
- Direct, supervise, and coordinate machine set-up and operations.
- Analyze and diagnose material, machining, and tooling problems.
- Lead and manage continuous improvement projects that improve productivity, quality and generate cost savings.
- Develop procedures, work instructions and standard training plans on new equipment operation, part processes and part quality inspection.
- Initiate, suggest, and implement plans to motivate, empower, and develop workers to achieve work goals in a team environment.
- Use inventory software daily to update orders.
Minimum Qualifications/Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in technical, engineering, or similar field appreciated, comparable management and technical experience

- Ability to read and operate measurement tools

- Mechanical and technical aptitude
Experience:
- Minimum of two years of experience in a supervisory/leadership role; training or certification in management appreciated. Experience with training and development, conflict resolution, and coordination of large teams.
- Previous experience assembling required.
- Previous experience in cases appreciated.
- 5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting required.
- Understanding of inventory and inventory control management
- Experience using Kronos/UKG time keeping system a plus.
Requirements:
- Work environment and working conditions are reflective of a manufacturing setting.
- Perform work on concrete floors for duration of shift.
- Must be able to lift and move (push, pull, carry) items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to raise arms above shoulders regularly and freely rotate arms/shoulders to lift/move parts.
- Must be able to kneel, crouch, stoop, bend and squat when needed.
- Work will include repetitive hand, arm, wrist, and leg motion.
- Will need hand and finger flexibility and dexterity and excellent eyesight with or without corrective lenses.
