RP Constructors is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Accountant to support our financial operations. This role is responsible for maintaining accuracy in accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) processes, ensuring timely and precise monthly closeouts, and collaborating with senior management to provide financial insights that drive strategic decision-making.
Financial Oversight & Compliance:
- Oversee financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Monitor project costs and budgets, ensuring financial efficiency.
- Oversee invoices and collections to maintain cash flow.
- Handle subcontractor payments and ensure compliance with subcontractor requirements.
- Prepare monthly financial reports for management.
- Assist with tax regulations, industry standards, and internal financial policies.
Skills/Abilities:
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Knowledge of tax compliance, contractor excise tax, and subcontractor requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software (SAGE 300 CRE, Foundation, Viewpoint) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Advanced Excel skills are required.
- Experience handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, and subcontractor payments.
- Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Associate's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5 years of accounting experience, 3 years in construction accounting.
- Experience with job costing, project accounting, and work-in-progress (WIP) reporting.
