What are the responsibilities and job description for the Industrial Pipe Fitter position at RP Constructors, LLC?
RP Constructors LLC. began operations in 2015 and has experienced rapid growth each year since. Due to continued growth, we are currently looking for an industrial pipe fitter to assist our industrial department in installing, maintaining, and repairing piping systems, metal equipment and structures. The duties and responsibilities are all geared toward maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient construction site while also supporting the overall project.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Read blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work: locations, quantities, and material specs.
- Apply knowledge of system operation to select the most suitable fitting and material.
- Prepare, cut, fabricate, layout, fit, position, and assemble piping components together in various positions.
- Bolt, clamp, and tack parts to secure in position for welding.
- Install hangers, supports, valves and components according to piping system plans and specifications.
- Inspect systems/structures to ensure no obstructions or leaks are present, repair or modify the design if necessary.
- Proper identification and use of tools required for tasks. (grinders, drills, threading machine, etc.)
- Operate forklifts & telehandler.
- Hoist loads using slings, chains, shackles, hooks, cables, and other rigging equipment.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrated industrial construction/maintenance experience.
- Ability to read prints and construction drawings.
- Must understand how to read and interpret technical manuals to determine work procedures such as ISO’s and blueprints.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and manufacturers manuals and instructions.
- Must have 3 years’ experience working as pipe fitter/maintenance.
- Ability to take detailed instructions.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a team player.
- Good problem-solving abilities, communication skills, aptitude, and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Must be able to read & understand welding symbols, welding procedures, mechanical and structural drawings.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must be able to work long, flexible hours including weekends.
- Ability to meet physical demands of the job: lift 50 pounds, standing for long periods of time.
- Willingness to travel to different locations and work in a variety of weather conditions.
- Reliable transportation required.
- Have a valid driver license (Preferred)
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certified (Preferred)
