RP is seeking a DevOps Lead to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This role requires a highly skilled engineer with leadership experience who can guide teams in implementing and improving DevOps practices. The DevOps Lead will play a critical role in ensuring stable and efficient CI/CD pipelines, promoting automation, and driving collaboration between development, operations, and security teams.
This position is contingent upon the contract being awarded to RP Professional Services.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor DevOps engineers to implement best practices for automation, CI/CD, and infrastructure management.
- Design, develop, and manage robust CI/CD pipelines to support software deployment and integration.
- Oversee cloud infrastructure deployment, configuration, and maintenance using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
- Develop and enforce security, compliance, and governance standards across development environments.
- Implement proactive monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions to ensure system reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define DevOps strategies that align with mission objectives.
- Guide Agile development practices, ensuring seamless integration of DevOps solutions into sprint cycles.
- Provide technical leadership in troubleshooting complex deployment and system issues.
- Strong expertise in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure Devops, or Gitlab CI/CD.
- Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar.
- Advanced proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Expertise in containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Strong understanding of DevSecOps principles, security frameworks, and best practices.
- Excellent leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.
- Must be eligible to undergo and pass a Public Trust clearance.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a DevOps or Automation role, with at least 2 years in a leadership position.
- Proven track record of implementing CI/CD pipelines and managing cloud infrastructure.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver mission-critical solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting data analytics platforms or IT infrastructure in a government or enterprise environment.
- DevOps certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer Associate, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and IT service management practices.
