Fumigation Technician for Almond Processing – RPAC LLC

JOB DESCRIPTION

Under general supervision participates in the controlling of stored product pests within the facility with fumigants, insecticide spraying, and fogging. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of pest control methods, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.

Job Responsibilities

· Primary Responsibility:

• Assists in preparing structure, product blocks, and Containers to be fumigated or fogged
• Verifying the site to be fumigated is ready, by cleaning, sealing and performing safety check of area.
• Build, climb, and maintain tarp fumigation enclosures up to 50 feet
• Perform all aspects of commodity fumigation, including export requirements
• Dispenses appropriate amount of fumigant or fogging agent and goes through the established fumigation process.
• Providing proper documentation for Fumigated/ Fogged areas.
• Safely apply herbicide and pesticide as directed
• Wiling to learn and develop new skills
• Read and follow all Safety Data Sheets and Pesticide Labels
• Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)

Requirements:

• Ability to work in all types of weather
• SCBA Certification
• Ability to operate company vehicles and equipment including forklifts
• Willing to learn and pursue a Qualified Applicator License (QAL)
• Ability to work well with others
• Able to communicate clearly and effectively
• Need to continue learning and developing new skills
• Ability to follow instructions, to protect yourself and others
• Lifting 50 lbs. unassisted
• Flexible work schedule required. Work may be 8-12 hours per day, Monday – Friday with Saturdays as a possibility depending on production schedules.

Safety Considerations:

· Allergens: Working at this facility will require exposure to almonds, a known allergen.

· Exposure to loud noise from machinery. Ability to wear hearing protection required.

· Exposure to hot and cold weather. Must be able to handle working in uninsulated building.

Only the Managing Partner or RPAC, LLC has the authority to make any such agreement, which is binding only if it is in writing.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.50 - $17.50 per hour
