A well-established retail pharmacy in Wrangell, Alaska, is seeking a dedicated Retail Pharmacist to join their team. This is a direct-hire opportunity offering a Monday-Friday schedule with no weekends, a supportive work environment, and the chance to make a meaningful impact on patient care in the community.
Schedule
- Shifts: 1st Shift, Monday-Friday (No Weekends)
- Hours: 8:30 AM 5:30 PM (Lunch: 1:00 PM 2:00 PM)
- Pharmacy Software: Liberty RXQ
Pharmacy Overview
- Daily Prescription Volume: 100-150 scripts per day
- Staffing: 1 additional pharmacist, 2 full-time technicians, and 1 PRN technician available for additional support
Key Responsibilities
- Review prescriptions for appropriateness, legality, and potential interactions.
- Provide clinical consultations and resolve prescription concerns with prescribers.
- Verify completed prescription orders with accuracy and efficiency.
- Counsel patients on medication use, side effects, and treatment expectations.
- Conduct chart reviews for prescription refills and medication therapy management.
- Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and students.
- Participate in quality control, improvement initiatives, and pharmacy-run clinics.
- Provide drug education to patients and healthcare providers.
Requirements
- Active and clear Pharmacist license in any U.S. state.
- At least 2 years of outpatient or chain retail pharmacy experience required.
