Position Overview
The Staff Accountant role is a high-responsibility position on the rPlus Energies finance and accounting team. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting compliance efforts, and preparing financial statements and reports for all renewable energy projects. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams, external auditors, and financial stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and integrity of all financial transactions. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to contributing to the company's success.
General Responsibilities
- Maintain and update general ledger records by posting and verifying transactions.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Monitor and process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate payments and reconciliations.
- Support tax compliance by assisting in preparation of tax returns and calculating tax obligations.
- Assist with audits by preparing documentation, reconciliations, and reports for auditors.
- Manage fixed assets, including recording acquisitions, monitoring depreciation schedules, and ensuring compliance with asset management policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide ad hoc accounting and financial reports.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company procedures.
- Assist in cash forecasting to analyze short- and long-term liquidity requirements.
- Contribute to process improvements and optimization of accounting workflows.
- Other duties as needed and assigned.
