What are the responsibilities and job description for the Junior Estimator position at RPM Landscape Contractor LLC?
As a Junior Estimator, you will play a crucial role in sourcing new work opportunities and preparing accurate cost estimates for our projects. You will work closely with our estimating team to analyze bids, perform take-offs, create submittals and gather material quotes, all while utilizing our software programs, Landscape Management Network and SiteFotos.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source and identify potential bids in the lawn maintenance, utility construction, and tree care services industries. Utilize platforms such as CIS; Sam.gov; etc.
- Review bid documents and project specifications to determine scope and requirements. Complete Bid Doc/Project Spec Checklist.
- Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and cost analysis for projects.
- Obtain material quotes from suppliers.
- Input and manage data in Landscape Management Network, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare preliminary cost estimates and assist in compiling final estimates for projects.
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to refine estimates and adjust for changes in scope or material costs.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market prices, and new materials to provide accurate estimates.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience in estimating, construction, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and experience with estimating software (experience with Landscape Management Network is a plus).
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote or hybrid environment.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
