The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for driving revenue growth through strategic customer acquisition, relationship management, and business development. This role focuses on identifying new opportunities, maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring that RPM’s services align with customer needs in the commercial, industrial, and municipal sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Business Development:
- Identify and target new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, and referrals.
- Conduct site visits and client meetings to understand project needs and propose solutions.
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of potential clients to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Present and negotiate contracts, ensuring profitable agreements aligned with RPM standards.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
- Serve as the main point of contact for customers, addressing inquiries and providing ongoing support.
- Follow up on proposals, ensuring customer satisfaction and securing repeat business.
Market Awareness & Strategy Execution:
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities.
- Collaborate with the Director of Sales and Business Development to adjust sales strategies as needed.
- Represent RPM at industry events, networking opportunities, and trade shows to promote brand awareness.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with Operations, Marketing, and Estimating teams to align sales efforts with service capabilities.
- Utilize CRM tools to track leads, customer interactions, and sales progress.
- Provide regular reports on sales activity, performance, and forecasts to leadership.
