Production Assembler

RPM Staffing is seeking a Production Assembler in Sherman Texas!

This is a very physical position that requires heavy lifting, using a sledge hammer and standing on your feet for long periods of time.

Minimum duties and responsibilities:

• Assembling various parts into a semi-finished or a finished item.
• Ability to utilize hand grinders, gauges, welding, pneumatic impact tools, calipers, scales, tape measures, and electric and air operated hand tools.
• Experience reading schematics, drawings, bills of material, inspection documents, perform basic math
• Interpret blueprint and place appropriate components (bolts, head locks, tail washers, lock washers, nuts and bolts) as designed.
• Maintain area cleanliness and organization
• Follow verbal or written work instructions and standards consistently, accurately, and safely
• Demonstrated knowledge of prepared castings and assemble components of railroad track is preferred.
• Perform welding and as Level and Line Bender and/or Finish Grinder; must be able to interpret ruler, gauges and blueprints and follow procedure; and demonstrate knowledge of metal fabrication or carpentry.
• Attach rail, cast and blocks with bolts, nuts and lock pieces. Grind and weld cast, rails and blocks for proper fit per specifications.
• Assemble rails and switch rods.
• Transfer machined rail from floor to work rack. Remove metal burrs from machined areas using grinder or die grinder. Transfer rail from work rack to assembly area.
