Duties and Responsibilities
- Accurately troubleshoots and diagnoses mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues the first time.
- Services and repairs various systems on heavy equipment and company trucks, as needed, with no more than 1 call back per month.
- Completes inspections and makes recommendations for repairs maintaining cost effectiveness and reduced down time.
- Communicates with the driver/operator regarding issue and time required for the repair.
- Maintains repair log for trucks/equipment repaired with no mistakes.
- Maintains tools in good working order, servicing as needed.
- Attends all scheduled meetings, missing no more than 10% annually.
- Punches in and out for each shift and meal period with no more than 1 error per quarter.
- Provides excellent customer service, for both internal and external customers.
- Actively always demonstrates teamwork.
- Follow all OSHA, DOT, and other safety guidelines.
- Manages any stress on the job, including but not limited to meeting deadlines.
- Always adheres to company safety standards, such that no serious (requiring medical attention) injury occurred during the prior 12-month period.
The duties described above are not inclusive. Additional duties may be permanently assigned or required from time to time due to the need to respond to customer needs and remain competitive in the marketplace.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Current ASE Heavy/Medium truck certification.
- Current Welding certification.
- Minimum of five years’ experience servicing and repairing heavy equipment.
- Basic understanding of English to read and understand work instructions and safety information.
- Mechanical aptitude to perform repairs on trucks.
- Ability to meet physical demands of the job which include, but are not limited to walking, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, sitting, squatting, and occasionally lifting and carrying items which may weigh up to 25 pounds.
- Position spends approximately 100% of time outside repairing equipment, which may involve standing, squatting, bending, lying, or in various other positions to reach the machine.
- Vision and hearing must be within or correctable to within normal range.
- Ability to manage stress.
- Must be available for work 5am – 6pm Monday through Saturdays.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to machines and chemicals at various times. The noise level in the work environment is usually high.
