Your Role
The Director of Sales: Freight, is integral to RPM’s growth, innovation, and the organization’s continued success. A highly effective leader who is grounded in strategy and provides overall direction to the sales floor, you are responsible for the overall performance and profitability of the freight sales team. You are proactive in aligning the sales objectives with business strategies that include visibility and revenue opportunities. Dedicated to RPM’s customers, you understand how to execute a successful onboarding strategy and maintain the highest standard of customer service excellence. You are passionate and disciplined, doing whatever it takes to get the job done. As a member of the leadership team, you will work with other departments to provide strong measurable strategies that will elevate the brand, employees, service offerings, and ultimately foster sales growth.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Align the sales organization’s objectives with company business goals, strategy through active participation in strategic planning, sales strategy development, forecasting, sales resource planning, and budgeting.
- Responsible for developing and measuring performance metrics for each seller's portfolio of customers.
- Create and develop Salesforce reporting to ensure visibility to effort and performance
- Accountable for effective sales organization, including sales roles and responsibilities, sales channel definition, design and deployment of sales resource
- Meets targets for profitability, market share expansion, and other key financial performance objectives.
- Supports the achievement of strategic goals critical to other functional areas within the company through partnering on collaborative objectives
- Collaborate with learning and development to inform sales training and continuous learning materials around industry, intra-company product and service growth.
- Provide leadership to the sales team, while fostering a culture of accountability, professional development, high-performance, and ethical behavior.
Preferred Qualifications
- 7 years Industry Experience
- 3 years Leadership Experience
- Experience with Salesforce
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
