As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Inventory Manager who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced and highly regulated environment.
Position Overview:
The Inventory Manager will oversee all inventory-related functions including Metrc compliance, order fulfillment, physical audits, and employee supervision. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the cannabis supply chain, experience managing multiple SKUs, and the ability to ensure regulatory compliance with the Michigan Cannabis Regulatory Agency (CRA).
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain accurate inventory levels across multiple cultivation, processing, and storage areas
- Maintain full compliance with Metrc: tagging, manifest creation, reporting, and reconciliation
- Track and reconcile cannabis material throughout its lifecycle: from propagation to post-harvest packaging
- Supervise inventory team members and delegate tasks related to packaging, labeling, and inventory adjustments
- Conduct regular physical inventory audits and reconcile with digital records to ensure 100% accuracy
- Monitor and report on shrinkage, product movement, and system discrepancies
- Oversee and fulfill wholesale and retail orders in a timely and compliant manner
- Maintain detailed and organized inventory records to meet CRA audit standards
- Work closely with compliance, cultivation, and sales teams to ensure product flow aligns with production and sales plans
- Develop and implement SOPs for inventory management and staff training
- Assist in state and local inspections and internal audits as needed
Requirements:
- Proven mastery of Metrc — candidate must demonstrate advanced knowledge and real-world application
- Minimum of 2-4 years of cannabis inventory management experience, preferably in a licensed facility
- Strong knowledge of Michigan cannabis compliance requirements (CRA)
- Experience managing teams and delegating responsibilities
- Familiarity with tracking systems and digital inventory platforms in addition to Metrc
- Experience managing large inventories with multiple SKUs and high volume movement
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Capable of working in a fast-paced environment and meeting tight deadlines
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods
- Must pass all background checks as required by state law
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in agricultural, pharmaceutical, or regulated industries
- Certification or training in Metrc from a recognized cannabis training program
- Experience creating or improving inventory control procedures
- Forklift certification a plus
