Supervised visitation allows families to establish and/or maintain the parent-child/sibling relational bond. We protect the visit's integrity and create a positive atmosphere in which parents, children, and/or siblings can interact in a safe, structured environment by monitoring, teaching, and role modeling appropriate skills. Rraine serves children and families involved with the Department of Child Services in the following counties: Boone, Hendricks, Morgan, Marion, Hamilton, Madison, Hancock, Johnson, and Shelby. Must be willing to travel to the following counties and transport children and/or parents.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited university in a directly human services field.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to use a private car to transport self and others and must comply with the state policy concerning minimum car insurance coverage; Minimum liability limits not less than $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 in the aggregate is the required coverage when transporting families per DCS requirements. Responsibilities:
- Provide supervised visitations between parents/children/siblings and/or others who have been separated due to a substantiated allegation of abuse or neglect.
- Protect the integrity of the visit and to provide a positive atmosphere where parents and children may interact in a safe, structured environment.
- Ongoing assessment to determine when and if the child can safely return home.
- Support of ongoing family treatment by teaching and demonstrating parenting skills to parents and caregivers.
- Supervision of visits should be consistent with identified case issues and supportive of case goals.
- Documentation of visits and monthly reports to assess family progress.
- Communication and collaboration with Department of Child Services/Probation, Choices and/or other providers.
Things to consider before applying:
- This is a contractual position (1099). Meaning you're considered a contracted employee, no taxes are taken out, and there are no benefits (health, dental, 401K, etc.).
- This position requires you to have a reliable vehicle, carrying certain limits, and providing proof of auto insurance. Transportation may be a part of the service in meeting family needs. We would advise obtaining a quote.
Automobile liability for owned, non-owned and hired autos with minimum liability limits not less than $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 in the aggregate. The State is to be named as an additional insured on a primary, non-contributory basis.
- You'll receive your first direct deposit within 30-45 days from when you service your first family followed by biweekly payout.
- We have mandatory supervision every other Monday morning. You would attend an hour time slot.
- If you're looking for a 9-5 job, Monday through Friday, this position may not be suitable.
