Senior Accountant – Logistics

Key Responsibilities :
Payment Processing :
Accurately process and allocate customer payments to maintain financial integrity.
Monitor payment schedules and ensure disbursement deadlines are met.
Resolve payment discrepancies promptly to ensure smooth financial operations.
Accounts Payable (AP) :
Review, verify, and process vendor invoices with precision and compliance with company policies.
Reconcile vendor statements and swiftly address discrepancies.
Accounts Receivable (AR) :
Generate and issue accurate customer invoices in a timely manner.
Track outstanding payments, follow up on overdue accounts, and ensure collections are on time.
Reconcile AR accounts and provide regular updates to management.
Asset Management :
Monitor and manage company assets to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Assist in tracking and maintaining the value of high-value assets critical to logistics operations.
Reconciliations :
Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records.
Reconcile AP and AR accounts with general ledger balances to maintain financial accuracy.
Record Maintenance :
Maintain detailed financial records, including invoices, receipts, and payment documentation.
Manage expense reports and audit company credit card purchases.
Provide organized documentation for audits and compliance reporting.
Process Improvement :
Handle P&L accountability, including daily, weekly, and monthly COT (Cost of Transportation) reporting for all verticals within RS Group.
Identify and implement workflow enhancements to streamline payment and accounting processes.
Utilize accounting software to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Collaboration :
Partner with finance and operations teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Collaborate with operations and customer service teams to resolve payment and billing issues effectively.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience (3–5 years).
Proven expertise in AR and AP management, preferably in the trucking or logistics industry.
Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
Familiarity with high-value asset management.
Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
