About the Role
Role Purpose
The Application System Administrator position primarily focuses on Application and Platform Services supporting the Enterprise Environment, as well as the Infrastructure required to run those services.
Enterprise Platforms and Applications –O365 / Entra ID and application suite, Active Directory and SQL administration and MS server clustering
Skills – system monitoring, patch management, application virtualization, application architecture, redundancy / HA / disaster recovery planning and testing
Networking – TCP / IP, DHCP, DNS, Routing Protocols
Storage / Backup / Virtualization – Enterprise storage, backups, archiving, virtual hardware administration, VMWare, Cisco UCS, hyper converged hardware
Infrastructure Security – Identity and Access Management (IAM), Firewalls, filtering (URL, Email), Web Application Firewall, VPN, AV / MP software, Certificate Authority infrastructure, SSO, SIEM, FIM, IDS / IPS
Desktop Security – Microsoft and third-party patching, windows image build and maintenance, agent maintenance, build and maintain patching and software delivery environments
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, maintain and support Infrastructure Systems and Applications including Windows Servers, Office 365 Services and IAM services
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to provision, install and support required resources to support Enterprise Applications such as SAP, other middleware and systems integrations
- Monitor, respond to, and resolve system-related events such as disk space, performance threshold and service disruption alerts
- Collaborate with internal teams to review and develop continuous improvements to technology policies regarding operational best practices, information security, lifecycle management and asset controls.
- Consult with internal teams to identify, track, update and test system and disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity and maximal system availability
- Install application and system patches and upgrades to maintain supportability and lifecycle management activities.
- Support information security remediation and enhancement activities.
- Regularly confers with database programmers, analysts, other systems administrators, and users regarding current and prospective projects, system changes, technology forecasting and functional enhancements.
- Provides support to other technical staff regarding system administration, incident resolution, problem management and change control.
- Cross-functional activities including technical documentation, knowledge management, participation in updating a CMDB and training to support a diverse and matrix-style operating environment
- Models non-discriminatory practices in all activities.
- Participate in 24 / 7 on-call rotation.
- Performs any other related duties as assigned by the manager.
