The Opportunity
We are seeking a Construction Inspection Engineer for our Transportation-Construction Management Consulting Group Practice in the Dallas, TX area.
The Construction Inspection Engineer (EIT) has a can-do attitude and is a self-starter; responsible to help with the firm's Construction Engineering Inspection Services. You will help grow and develop staff and work closely with clients, engineers, and sub consultants to ensure their needs are met. You will also be involved in business planning, marketing, and fulfillment of the firm’s strategic vision for the construction services program.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program
- A minimum of 2 years’ work experience with major road or bridge construction inspection and/or management
- Licensed Engineer-in-Training or completion of accredited Civil Engineering Degree.
- Knowledge of road and bridge construction management
- Has acted in the Assistant Project Engineer role for State DOT, on at least two projects.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Extensive experience with traffic control plan and MOT reviews as well as inspection of major traffic realignments on major highway systems with lane closure restrictions
- Willingness to work weekend, nights, and swing shifts
- Willingness to travel State/Nation-wide
- Experience with constructing submittal reviews, report development and cost analysis, schedule preparation, and general contract administration for federally funded state transportation projects
Preferred Qualifications:
- Auto Cad experience
- Structural Inspection Experience
- DOT Experience
- Project Engineer experience
