The Opportunity
We are seeking a Construction Manager for our Transportation-Construction Management (T-CM) Practice in the Novi, MI area.
The Construction Manager will help manage and administer roadway and bridge transportation construction projects as well as the internal workings of a satellite office. Responsible for project management, contract administration, review and interpretation of plans, specification, and other construction contract documents, monitor scope, schedule and budgets, prepare and process work orders; mentor, supervise and assign work to subordinate staff members while enforcing the practices, methods and procedures of a professional work environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program with 7 years experience or
- High School Diploma or GED with 10 years relevant experience
- A minimum of 7-10 years’ experience with major road or bridge construction inspection
- A minimum of 4 years experience with MDOT contract specifications
- Ability to manage construction inspection activities on a wide variety of roadway and bridge construction projects.
- Knowledge of material testing procedures and testing equipment
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
- Ability to manage construction inspection activities on a wide variety of roadway and bridge construction projects
- Good driving record
- Ability to sit, stand, climb, bend, twist or stoop frequently and for prolonged periods
- Ability to reach horizontally as well as vertically for required tasks
- Ability to use construction or inspection safety equipment including fall protection
- Ability to lift and/or move you to 50 pounds
Preferred Qualifications:
- Licensed Professional Engineer in Michigan or the ability to obtain a license within 6 months
- Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification
- All MDOT Material Certifications
- OSHA 10 hour
