The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer located in our Timonium, Maryland office!
RS&H has a national bridge design practice and is a leader in bridge design throughout the country, having completed a variety of high-profile bridge projects.

In this role, you will be responsible for the structural aspects of highway and/or railroad bridge engineering projects. You will be responsible for delivering current and future projects through construction and for mentoring the team in structural design and career development. This position will also be responsible for leading technical pursuits and proposal writing.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree minimum and (Master’s degree with structural emphasis preferred) in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
- Must have a professional engineering (PE) registration with the ability to obtain comity in other jurisdictions as required
- Experience designing transportation structures including bridges, retaining walls, culverts, miscellaneous structures, and construction engineering.
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive structural engineering design experience
- Good working knowledge of MicroStation, Excel, Mathcad, variety of Structural Design Software, (examples include STAAD, MDX, LPILE, CONSPAN, RISA, LARSA)
- Experience working on traditional Design-Bid-Build projects for SHA, Maryland Transportation Authority or other municipalities within Maryland or surrounding states
- Experience working as Owner’s Representative on projects
- Experience working on preliminary and final design projects in Maryland and the Northeast
- Experience managing and mentoring engineering staff
- Must have the ability to effectively engage and empower teams, and interact with and build strong relationships with clients, customers, contractors, and other key stakeholders.
- Possesses a professional demeanor and adheres to ethical standards.
- Leads by example and provides clear guidance and expectations for team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on CMGC, PDB or Design-Build delivery projects
- Complex bridge design experience
- Experience with Finite Element Method/Analysis
Typical salary range for this position in Maryland is $145,015 to $239,315 and commensurate with experience relative to the position.
