The Opportunity
RS&H is seeking a Senior Internal Communications Manager to lead internal communications as part of the Corporate Communications team.
In this role, you’ll lead and implement communication strategies that inform, engage, and connect our employee-owners across the firm. You’ll collaborate with senior leaders and stakeholders while working closely with the broader communications team to design and deliver campaigns that align with business goals and strengthen our culture of ownership.
This is a hybrid position based in either Jacksonville or Tampa, Florida, requiring a consistent schedule for working in-office and remote based on team needs and expectations. While travel isn’t a major part of the job, visiting different offices and engaging with diverse teams will strengthen your understanding of audience needs, allowing you to tailor campaigns more effectively.
In this role, you will:
- Implement and refine a firmwide communications framework that aligns business objectives with the message, tone, urgency, audience, and channel strategies.
- Develop and execute multichannel internal communication plans for firmwide initiatives ranging in various levels of complexity and visibility.
- Build trust as you counsel senior leaders and stakeholders on messaging, change management, and communication approaches.
- Create engaging campaigns and dynamic content that connect employees with strategic priorities, from compelling stories on our intranet to company town halls.
- Use data and analytics to measure the success of communication strategies, uncovering insights to refine and enhance engagement efforts.
- Manage our internal channels to ensure they support communication strategies, including our social-sharing intranet, internal newsletters, and digital office signage.
- Partner with internal teams to advance our employer brand and employee experience to foster a high-performing, engaged culture.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement by identifying best practices and creative approaches to elevate communication initiatives.
- Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering their growth and building team capabilities.
To be successful in this role, you must:
- Have a bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or related field and 12 years of progressive experience in communications, including internal communications and content creation, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. An additional six years of experience will be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
- Have experience designing and implementing multifaceted internal communication strategies that drive engagement in large organizations and using data to measure and improve communication effectiveness.
- Demonstrate exceptional writing, storytelling, and editing skills, with proven expertise in crafting content for diverse internal audiences across multiple platforms.
- Exhibit excellent relationship-building, advisory, and collaboration skills, with experience in partnering effectively with senior leaders and stakeholders.
- Have experience guiding teams and influencing outcomes.
- Possess advanced proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite and other communication tools.
- Bring strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to navigate complex challenges, solve problems, and innovate while working independently.
- Experience leading internal communications initiatives at an AEC and/or employee-owned firm is preferred, but not required.
Why You’ll Love This Role
- Impact and Purpose: You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how our employee-owners connect with the firm’s vision, strategy, and culture.
- Innovation: You’ll bring creative solutions to meaningful communication challenges, driving engagement and alignment across the firm.
