Position Description
The Operations Manager will oversee warehouse operations in several locations, potentially multi-state. Current assigned locations are Sunnyvale, Oakland , and Sacramento, CA. This role requires a strong leader who can effectively manage inventory, optimize storage space, and ensure the efficient movement of goods within the warehouse and between assigned locations. This role is expected to adhere to all company policies and safety protocols.
Key Competencies Required to be Successful as an Operations Manager
- Manage multiple locations day-to-day warehouse operations through their on-site teams, including receiving, storing, and shipping of goods.
- Supervise warehouse staff, providing leadership, training, and guidance to ensure optimal performance.
- Develop and implement procedures for inventory management, including cycle counts, stock rotation, and order fulfillment.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and track key metrics such as inventory turnover and stock levels.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies regarding storage and handling of all products.
- Optimize warehouse layout and storage systems to maximize space utilization and improve efficiency.
- Coordinate with other departments, such as customer care, procurement, and inventory, to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of materials.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to streamline warehouse operations.
- Oversee maintenance of warehouse equipment and facilities, ensuring proper functioning and safety standards are met.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement initiatives and achieve operational goals.
- Perform warehouse audits of the operations, processes, and inventory management (e.g. warehouse shipping, accuracy, spend etc.) to help identify areas for improvement within the warehouse that can increase efficiency, reduce operational costs, and improve customer service.
