We are seeking a seasoned Director of Construction to lead and elevate our construction operations. This individual will play a pivotal role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship. As the senior leader of the construction team, you’ll oversee multiple job sites, manage field personnel and subcontractors, collaborate with our architecture and design teams, and report directly to the company owner.
- Oversee the full construction lifecycle from pre-construction to close-out.
- Manage project budgeting, cost tracking, and financial reporting in collaboration with our estimating and accounting teams.
- Lead procurement of materials and subcontractors, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
- Supervise and mentor site superintendents, laborers, and carpenters, ensuring accountability and professional growth.
- Coordinate closely with our architecture and design teams to maintain design integrity throughout construction.
- Monitor schedules, resolve jobsite issues, and ensure adherence to timelines and safety standards.
- Implement and refine systems to improve operational efficiency, profitability, and client satisfaction.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in construction management, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record managing high-end residential projects from ground-up construction to complex renovations.
- Strong background in budgeting, cost control, scheduling, and contract management.
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously across different locations.
- Experience working in architect-led or design-build environments preferred.
- Proficiency in construction management platforms such as Buildertrend, Procore, or similar.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Prior experience in the luxury custom home sector
- Knowledge of NYC/NJ permitting and construction regulations
- Familiarity with millwork, cabinetry, or interior design coordination
