Our tight-knit team of four is expanding, and we’re looking for a motivated and hands-on Warehouse and Purchasing Manager to join us and grow with the company.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys operational leadership with physical work in the warehouse. You’ll be at the center of our warehouse operations, reporting directly to the owner, working with inventory, logistics, and team leadership while also supporting the delivery team (when needed), shopping and managing vendor pickups. Responsibilities
- Source, negotiate, and purchase materials, equipment, and supplies
- Monitor inventory levels and anticipate supply chain needs to prevent project delays.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors, securing competitive pricing and quality materials.
- Track and manage purchasing budgets, ensuring cost-effective decisions.
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational standards.
- Conduct regular physical inventory audits to maintain accurate stock levels..
- Coordinate transportation management to optimize delivery schedules and reduce costs.
- Implement lean warehouse practices to improve efficiency and minimize waste.
- Supervise the order fulfillment process, ensuring timely and accurate order processing for customers.
- Direct shipping and receiving activities, including the inspection of incoming goods and the preparation of outgoing shipments.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate warehouse staff to foster a high-performance culture focused on teamwork and accountability.
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in purchasing, warehouse, or inventory management
- Familiarity with demand planning processes and best practices in order fulfillment.
- Proficient in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to analyze data, track trends, and make strategic purchasing decisions.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills to collaborate with team members, vendors, and other departments.
- Knowledge of lean methodologies is preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move materials and equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment, including standing, bending, and operating warehouse equipment.
